Week #4 - Jackie - My Ted Talk on Texture
I was outside in the sculpture garden talking with my mom on the phone when I took this picture below. At first I was not paying attention to any of my surroundings until I was walking near the side of the stair cases leading up to studio 5. The tree right in front of the stairs was sort of acting like a gobo, and the sun was pushing the outline of these gorgeous wreath like branches of crisp leaves. I love a good foliage gobo as much as the next person too.
Earlier this week, the reflecting pool in the courtyard near the Claire flooded and it was a sight too see. It was such a serene scene with the calm sound of flowing water all while looking so chaotic as it was all over the grass and slowly taking over the cement floor. The pool of water in front of me acted like a mirror and projected the reflection of the trees above which looked so beautiful. You can see so many variations of leaves making it an interesting spectacle. If you were to unfocus this, it would still look incredible and add a little zhush to the composition. Also, moral of the story, we love to see beauty within the chaos.
Beautiful representations of texture. I love the mirror of the texture in the 2nd photo.
