Week 2- Personal Inspiration

I suppose choosing a dark image would not give someone inspiration but for me it speaks volumes of why this image is inspiring. Some background on this captured moment:

The last visit we had to our star gazing spot in Sedona, AZ was 2 days before moving back to CA to start this new journey of Grad School. My husband (being the smart man he is) changed his career focus from being a Financial Advisor to going back to school to be an Astrophysicist. (I know he is a bit crazy but loves to learn new things.) This career change happened because my niece who is socially austistic would have very direct discussions with my husband about the color of the planets. He would explain to her why the colors appear different to the nake eye versus what we see in pictures. Being the challenger my niece is she told my Husband that he is wrong and needs prove. So he bought her a mini telescope and showed her what the plaents actually look like. He enjoyed teaching her something new and seeing the excitement of my niece taking in all the new information. (If you ask her she will tell you everything you need to know about the planets).

This moment you are looking at is the when the moon was at its brightest the small speck to its right (our right) is Mars which was pointed out to me by my Husband. Looking at the glow that illuminates from moon against the dark blue/black sky brings a sense of tranquility. As you look at the moon you also see other colors like pale yellow, orange and a bit of red. I'm inspired by this image because of the warm glow against the dark sky. The image tells me that if you continue on the journey, and follow the path that is lit up anything is possible. As cheesey as this sounds the image helps me tell this story.

Comments

  1. I marked you down by 1/4 as your name is not in the subject line. That said, it is a beautiful image and I loved the story and your emotional connection to it.

Please proof-read these posts before you submit as there a decent amount of typos.
